RideSafety ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our vehicle recall management platform and related services.
Your choice to use AI
Before sending a diagnostic message or recording for transcription, the app asks for permission to share it with Google's AI service through Google Cloud Vertex AI. This includes the current message, recent conversation context, vehicle details you include, and selected photos or audio. You can use the garage and manual code lookup without consenting to AI processing. Turn off the AI permission checkbox to stop further submissions.
Storage and retention
Diagnostic conversations remain on your device unless you choose Save case to account. Account-saved cases remain until you delete them or your account. Selected diagnostic photos and audio are processed in memory by our API and are not saved in case history. Cloud providers may process service and security logs under their own retention policies. Avoid including personal information in diagnostic attachments.
Recall services
Recall checks send make, model, and year to NHTSA. VIN decoding sends the VIN you choose to decode to NHTSA. A model-year campaign lookup does not establish whether an individual vehicle has an outstanding recall or a completed repair.
Personal Information
For email accounts we store your name, email address, and a password hash. Google or Apple sign-in provides a provider identifier and the profile details you authorize; Apple may provide a private relay email. We do not receive your Google or Apple password. Accounts and saved garages are shared between the website and mobile app.
Vehicle Information
We collect Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) that you provide to check for recalls. This data is used solely to provide recall information and monitoring services.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you use our service, including pages visited, features used, and time spent on our platform to improve our services.
Communication Data
When you contact us for support, we retain records of our communications to provide better assistance and improve our services.
Service Delivery
We use your information to provide recall checking services, send notifications about recalls affecting your vehicles, and maintain your account.

Service Providers
Our service providers include Vercel and Google Cloud for hosting, Turso for shared account and library storage, an email delivery provider for account messages, and Cloudflare for abuse prevention. Apple and Google handle their respective sign-in flows. Each receives the data needed for the function it provides.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RideSafety, our users, or others.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, with continued protection under this policy.
Encryption
Production connections use HTTPS. Native mobile session tokens use platform secure storage. Passwords are stored as hashes; Apple refresh tokens are encrypted server-side. These protections do not eliminate every security risk.

We implement strict access controls, ensuring only authorized personnel can access your data, and only when necessary for service delivery.

We collect and retain only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our services effectively.

Deletion
In the mobile app, open My Garage and select Delete account. Confirm your email and, when asked, sign in again. Deletion removes the shared account, server-saved garage, cases, settings, uploaded vehicle photos, and sign-in credentials. Apple authorization is revoked. Guest data and exported copies remain separate. Payment providers may retain transaction records under their own policies.
Opt-Out
You can opt out of non-essential communications and certain data processing activities through your account settings.
